Online poker has become world famous lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No more wagers." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different gamblers acquire five cards each. After you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to either make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s amount is akin to your beginning wager, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantly to the bank. After the wager is the showdown. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays out cash even with your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • 3-1 for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
