Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker contender on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
Phil started competing intently after acquiring a false ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and a continuing love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every single day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and constantly strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
