Internet poker has become globally acclaimed recently, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no concealment or different types of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the other players receive five cards. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is akin to your original bet, which means that the risks will have doubled. Abandoning means that your bet goes instantly to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, plus a sum in accordance with the original wager. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your ante and set expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
