Internet poker has become globally famous recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its television ratings. Over the years several types on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with twenty-one than traditional poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or different types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers attain 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the casino’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your bet goes directly to the bank. After the wager is the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, plus a sum equal to the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
