Texas Hold’em is simply about people and position. All experienced Texas Hold’em enthusiasts agree that position in no cap Texas Holdem is fundamentally essential. Playing your hole cards in last spot will be much more profitable than in early poker position. This is seeing that a whole lot more information is collected right before acting.
i.e., I played in a $1-$2 no limit money game at a local spot. I bumbled in with 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, just to see some excitement. Flop came down A-A-4. A player in starting spot made a fifteen dollar bet. 2 players drop out and it was now my turn. I should have dropped out, but something felt a little off. I ID’d this person as a weak-tight bettor, and usually if he had the best hand he would just check, so I called.
The turn arrived with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My competitor made another bet of $20. I hesitated a bit, but decided to re-raise another $30thirty dollars on top of his $20. He dropped out and I won the money.
Betting at last spot gives you an insight into where you sit by studying how entrants react and wager. On the flip side, people at starting position might use their poker position to check-raise the last seated competitors and corner them later at the end. In Holdem, both ends, late and early should be played carefully.
